 The VELO Battle on the Border GRAN FONDO SOCIAL RIDES are mass participation social rides for anyone who has a bike and enjoys a pedal. The attraction of the Gran Fondo is for individuals to set personal goals and challenge themselves against the beautiful terrain of the Tweed Valley.

Take up the challenge of the 200km Gran Fondo or simply stroll along with friends and family down the coast in the Piccolo Fondo. Choose your distance, choose your pace. Accommodation packages available for all groups and budgets, so get in early for a great weekend with all the "battlers".

57km Piccolo Fondo 

It is only 57km and a great introduction into the great world of social riding. the landscape is spectacular, the ride is fun, so be apart of this great event.

  • Entry Price: $49 (includes event t-shirt & BBQ)
  • Course: South down Tweed Coast Road / Mooball Hotel / Pottsville Rd / Tweed Coast Rd
  • Field Limit: 350
  • Start time: 11:30am
  • Riders must be aged 12 years and older as of the day of the ride. Riders under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult

136km Fondo

Time to step up the intensity and really explore the terrain of the Tweed. This ride will take you down the Tweed Coast and through the tranquil villages of Stokers, Tyalgum, Chillingham. Finishing this gives you definite bragging rights!

  •  Price: $79 (includes event t-shirt & BBQ)
  • Course: South down Tweed Coast Rd/Mooball Hotel/Stokers Rd/Smiths Creek Rd/Kyogle Rd/Tyalgum Village/Numinbah Rd/Tweed Valley Way / Cudgen / Plantation Rd/Bells Bvd
  • Field Limit: 350
  • Start time: 8:30am
  • Riders must be aged 15 years and older as of the day of the ride. Riders under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult

180km Gran Fondo

This is the ultimate challenge for the cycling enthusiast. You set the pace as the bunch ride up the mountains, down the valley, along the coast line, visiting all the unique communities along the way. This is the king of the mountain ride of rides.

  • Price: $99 (includes event t-shirt & BBQ)
  • Course: South down Tweed Coast Rd/Mooball Hotel/Stokers Rd/Smiths Creek Rd/Kyogle Rd/Tyalgum Village/Numinbah Rd/Loop back around Kyogle Rd to Tyalgum Rd / Tweed Valley Way / Cudgen Rd / Plantation Rd/Bells Bvd .
  • Field Limit: 300
  • Start time: 7:15am
  • Riders must be aged 15 years and older as of the day of the ride. Riders under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult
